The Struggles Behind the Glamour

Known for her vibrant presence on social media, Uorfi Javed has never shied away from speaking her mind. In a recent interview with Telly Masala/Bollywood Now, she shared a distressing story about the ill-treatment she faced on the sets of a TV show. This revelation sheds light on the often overlooked hardships that television actors endure.

A Tough Start in Television

Uorfi’s journey in the television industry has not been an easy one. Recalling her early days, she revealed, “I was a newbie in television and was doing a show, I do not even remember what that show was and I was very sick. The EP would give me a 7.30 am shift every day, and I would keep requesting, keep asking him to give me a 10.30 am shift since I wanted to see a doctor. However, he told me that I have to come at the given time or else they would throw me out of the show.”

This statement underscores the lack of empathy and the stringent conditions actors often work under, highlighting the grueling schedules that can severely impact their health.

Health Compromised for Work

Despite her deteriorating health, Uorfi’s requests for a later shift were consistently denied. “Since I was new, I got very scared. I would reach the sets by 7.30, and they would start my scene by 3.30. I was literally very sick. In the end, I was admitted to the hospital for I do not know how many days,” she recounted. This incident not only affected her physically but also left a lasting emotional impact.

The Harsh Reality of Television Industry

Uorfi’s revelation brings to light the often harsh and unglamorous side of the television industry. She emphasized that the success and recognition actors achieve are not solely due to the platform but are a result of their relentless hard work. “Aisa nahi hai TV hi sab kuch deta hai, it is the hard work of an actor too. It is not easy to work in TV, there is a lot of insult involved too. Some production houses treat you like f**g sit!” she exclaimed.

Hard Work Over Fame

Addressing the perception that television gives actors their identity, Uorfi said, “Please I do not want to glorify ke TV ne hi sab kuch diya hai, koi bhagwan thodi hai TV. Insan apni hard work ke wajah se banta hai jo banta hai.” Her words reflect a strong belief in self-made success and the importance of acknowledging the effort and dedication that actors invest in their careers.
