Millie Bobby Brown is a British actress. She played Eleven in the Netflix series “Stranger Things”, for which she received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

He also starred in the film “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019) and its sequel “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021). He also starred in and produced the Netflix films “Enola Holmes” (2020) and its sequel (2022) and “Damsel” (2024).

Early life

Millie Bobby Brown was born in Marseille, Málaga, Spain, on February 19, 2004. He is the fourth child of British parents Kelly and Robert Brown. He was given the name “Bobby” by his father. His father is an estate agent. She could hear partially in her left ear since birth, but over the years she gradually lost her hearing. When she was four years old, she moved back to England with her family and settled in Bournemouth. When she was eight years old, the family moved to Orlando, Florida.

Career

In 2013, Brown made her acting debut as a guest star in the ABC fantasy drama series “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”, a spin-off of Once Upon a Time, in which she played Young Alice. In 2014, she played the lead role of Madison O’Donnell in BBC America’s paranormal drama-thriller series “Intruders”.

In 2016, Brown was cast to play the role of Eleven in the Netflix science fiction horror series “Stranger Things”. She received critical acclaim for her performance and was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

In 2016, Brown starred in the music video for Sigma and Birdy’s single “Find Me”. Since November 2016, she has appeared in commercial advertisements for investment and financial services company Citigroup. In January 2017, she debuted modeling in Calvin Klein’s “By Appointment” campaign.

Brown appeared in a campaign for Italian brand Moncler in the summer of 2018 and also made an appearance on the cover of Vogue.

From 2018 to now, Brown was chosen to provide the voice in the virtual reality experience “Spheres: Songs of Spacetime”, created by Darren Aronofsky. In 2018, she was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time, becoming the youngest person on the list.

Apart from that, she was also named as one of the most influential teens of 2017 and 2018 by Time magazine. That year, she became the youngest person to be appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. EA Games announced that Brown has collaborated with The Sims 4 programmers to participate in the Sims 4 Positivity Challenge.

In 2019, Brown made his feature film debut in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”, the sequel to the 2014 film “Godzilla”. He reprized his role in the next sequel, “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021).

In 2022, she reprized her role as Enola Holmes in the sequel, “Enola Holmes 2” and earned $10 million for the role according to Variety. Also, in the same year, she was made the ambassador of the fashion brand Louis Vuitton.

Brown released her first novel, “Nineteen Steps”, based on her family history, in September 2023.

In 2024, Brown starred in the fantasy film “Damsel” for Netflix.

Personal life

Brown came to the public eye at the age of 12 after being cast in “Stranger Things”. At the age of 14, homophobic comments circulated on social media as memes, which Brown later denied were false. In addition, he also faced criticism from social media users and articles of sexual abuse. She expressed her sadness over the inaccurate comments made at the time with an Instagram post in 2020, on her 16th birthday.

In February 2022, Brown revealed about the increased presence of sexual content on her social media profiles since she was 18.

As of 2021, Brown is in a relationship with actor Jake Bongiovi. In April 2023, they announced their engagement.

As of August 2022, she can be found as an online student at Purdue University in Indiana, where she is studying Health and Human Services.

Brown has a total of ten pets, including four dogs, two cats, two turtles, a rabbit, and a donkey. His dogs include Winnie, Marley, Pepperoni, and Luna.

In May 2023, Browns announced a long-term pet apparel and accessories agreement with Browns’ global licensing partner IMG.
